Creative Grants
Unrestricted cash for the next generation of short-form artists.
Megaphone funds worthy, in‑need artists so they can finally make the work that will launch their careers. No strings. No equity. Just cash.
Megaphone is a 501(c)(3) founded by Sam Reich and Elaine Carroll to put money directly into artists' hands. Hollywood is making fewer things thanks to consolidation. Public arts funding is eroding thanks to this administration. The internet offers opportunity, but rarely without a boost — or, if you will, a megaphone.
We've already seen that impact firsthand: our project Pretty Gay helped transform our friend Catherine's life, giving her a huge platform and financial stability.
Established in 2025 as an experiment in "giving while living," Megaphone is built to outlast us. Every dollar is tax deductible. More importantly, every dollar helps an artist who has earned it, and needs it, to make something real… and maybe just make their career.
A partial list of the films, shows, festivals, and programs Megaphone has funded since 2025. Scroll sideways — there's more where these came from.
A comedy interview series exploring the queer identity and experience on the path to finding true love.
A buddy comedy with a sci-fi hook about a woman left behind during a Hindu rapture.
A horror-comedy about the surreal and disembodied experience of grief.
An electric, joyful, and unapologetic comedy and theater festival powered by trans artists.
A filmed version of the one-person show about what it means to live in the face of inevitable death.
A feature-length quasi-improvised ensemble comedy about a hunt for a dead man's fortune.
Unrestricted cash for the next generation of short-form artists.
Your dollars turn into films, shows, festivals, and the big breaks every artist needs. Every cent is tax deductible.
